Cookie Policy

This page sets out what QFI Terminal uses cookies for, how long each one is kept, and who else sets one. If a purpose is not listed below, we do not use cookies for it.
The short version is that almost everything here exists to keep you signed in. We run no advertising networks, no retargeting pixels and no third-party analytics. One cookie measures which campaign brought a visit, and that is the one the Decline button turns off.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a site asks your browser to keep and send back on the next request. It is how a website recognises that two page loads came from the same person, which is what makes staying signed in possible at all.
Session cookies are erased when you close the browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. First-party cookies are set by the site you are on. Third-party cookies are set by another company whose code runs on the page.
2. What we use them for
Three purposes, and nothing else:
- Strictly necessary. Signing in, staying signed in, and protecting the sign-in itself from cross-site request forgery. The site cannot work without these, so they are set without asking. That is what the law allows for cookies of this kind, and it is also simply what they are: without them there is no account.
- Functional. Remembering that you arrived through someone's referral link, so they get credited.
- Measurement. One first-party identifier that lets us see which campaign brought a visit that later became a signup. It is a random string. It carries no name, no email and no profile, it is never sold, and it is never shared with an advertising network.
We use no targeting or advertising cookies, no social-sharing cookies, and no third-party analytics such as Google Analytics.
3. What we use cookies for
Grouped by purpose, which is what matters to you. Every cookie we set does one of these six things, and nothing on this site does anything not on this list.

4. Third-party cookies
We embed almost nothing from other companies. Two exceptions, both of which only load if you reach the part of the site that uses them:

We also load fonts from Google Fonts. Google Fonts does not set cookies, though your browser's request does reach Google's servers.
5. Storage that is not a cookie
Some things are kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie. They are never sent to our servers automatically, but they are still data on your device, so they belong here:
- Your answer to the consent card, so we stop asking.
- The campaign measurement identifier described above, kept in a second place so it survives a cleared cookie jar. Removed when you decline.
- Inside the terminal, your layout, watchlists, selected symbols and interface preferences, so the application opens the way you left it.
6. Changing your mind
You can change your answer whenever you like. This clears the choice we recorded and removes the measurement identifier; the consent card will appear again on your next visit to the home page.

Declining does not sign you out and does not break anything. The strictly necessary cookies stay, because without them there is no way to keep you signed in, and the functional referral cookie stays if you arrived through a referral link, because removing it would quietly cost the person who referred you.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
Your browser can block or delete cookies independently of anything on this page. Be aware that blocking all cookies will stop you being able to sign in here, or anywhere else.
8. Changes to this policy
If we start using cookies for a purpose that is not in the table above, that purpose gets a row and the date at the top of this page changes. If a change alters what we do with your data rather than merely how we describe it, we will ask again rather than assume the old answer still holds.
